So I called to have phone unlocked, I was told I had to have my current phone 6 months! Mind you when I bought my initial phone and switched over to cricket, they said 6 months service. Thinking it was it being the older model phone, when I upgraded I figured things would get better. I have complained on numerous occasions that service wouldn't pick up in my home and several other locations as well as being extremely slow. Instead of paying deductible for another iPhone 7, I decided to upgrade. The phone I bought from them stopped working 7 months after purchasing. I was told that if I wasn't fully satisfied with the service, I could switch carriers in no less than 6 months.

As well as bought a phone, paid in full from location. I switched carriers to cricket in February. Not likely I will return to that store and if a device change is necessary, it is less likely that I will return to that store - which I assume is the retail model. Response - she claimed I was being disrespectful and asked me to leave the store. On top of that, I commented that the clerk was not wearing her mask correctly (below her nose). $20 for a piece of plastic that was not functional. I could press it 20+ times and it would not come on! I put the initial cover back on - zero issue with turning the phone on - and returned to the store for a refund. Once installed, it was immediately apparent the phone would not respond to pressing the "on" buttton. I had already bought one but found it bulky. That was changed, A few days later I went back to the store for a phone cover/protector and purchsed one specific to my phone. Logging into the account, I discovered the actual billing was $38 per month as an insurance premium was added on - without my consent.
I asked multiple times to confirm the monthy charge to my credit card and was assured it would be $30.
Upon arriving at the retail store, I was told they were not committed to the Internet packages and proved that as I proceeded to purchase a plan. I reviewed the Cricket Wireless web site for plan information and pricing.
